This Privacy Policy explains what information Fieldwork Technical collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

1. What we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text)
  • Phone number, if you choose to verify one for your account
  • Payment information: handled directly by our payment provider — we do not store your full card or bank details ourselves
  • Order content: the instructions, files, and messages you submit as part of a request
  • Usage data: basic technical information like IP address and browser type, used for security and to keep the Platform working correctly

2. How we use it

  • To operate your account and process your requests
  • To process payments and payouts
  • To communicate with you about your requests, including email notifications
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the Platform
  • To improve the Platform based on how it's actually used

3. Who we share it with

We share information with our payment processor (to complete transactions), and with the specialist or client on the relevant request (limited to what's needed to complete that request). We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. How long we keep it

Account information is retained while your account is active. Closed requests and their associated files are automatically deleted 30 days after closing. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting support, subject to any records we're legally required to retain (such as transaction records for tax purposes).

5. Your rights — EU/UK users (GDPR)

If you are located in the EU or UK, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal retention requirements
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

6. Your rights — California users (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect and how it's used
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Opt out of the sale of your personal information — we do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

7. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, including encrypted password storage and secure connections (HTTPS) throughout the Platform. No system is perfectly secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

8. Cookies

We use minimal cookies necessary for the Platform to function, such as keeping you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
